Snug as a bug with a little room to
spare...

Now here's the best part, and the part that I have been waiting for, for
a very long time! The chassis (with the original mounting system) mated
back together with the body.

I need to decide where the battery is going to live.

Time to work out the steering servo and
get some electronics.
When I made the gear shift
lever the on/off switch for my orange one, I moved the battery back to
the tailgate, under the spare. I have a three inch speaker in the engine
compartment for the sound chip and it was kind of a pain to have the
battery in there as well.

Not much progress this week, but I did have a little fun making a fan
blade. I don't know if I will keep it on, but it was a fun distraction
anyway.

I hate running out of parts.
While waiting for new parts drop from the mail lady, I stumbled into
this. Missing a windshield and a steering wheel, fuel can and a
shovel... $26 bones. I swear it's a sickness, but how could a I pass it
up.

This week I tried to add a bit of
uniformity to the underside, then I put it all back together after it
thoroughly dried.
My micro servos finally arrived so next up will be the steering wheel
assembly.

All of the GI Joe jeeps that I have picked up have been missing the fuel
can bracket. I thought I would give fabricating one a whirl with some
.080 styrene. I made a template from some much thinner .015, trying to
make it out of just one piece. I have read that styrene bonds to styrene
well, but my experience with it is very limited, and largely untested.
